I'm thinkin' that all that drinkin' I did last night was a bad idea, I lost my phone and I got too stoned, got kicked out of the bar again. At that point I should have gone home but on down the road I roamed, I called my ex, we had some sex and I woke up all alone. I'm thinkin' that all that drinkin' I did last night was a bad idea. I'm thinkin' that all that drinkin' I did last night was a bad idea, I got off work at the end of the day, feelin' good because I just got paid. I needed that paycheck to make rent but some pretty girls said they was my friends, Spent what I got paid, thought I might get laid but I woke up pitchin' a tent. I'm thinkin' that all that drinkin' I did last night was a bad idea. I'm thinkin' that all that drinkin' I did last night was a bad idea, I don't recall what went down, the police report said I was downtown. They claimed that I went too far when I took a piss on their patrol car, I tried to run, they used a taser gun and let me tell you that shit really ain't no fun. I'm thinkin' that all that drinkin' I did last night was a bad idea.

I hail from a city out on the west coast, Where them girls are awful pretty, prettier than most. Tank tops and brown skin, cutoff blue jeans, They don't leave much room for guessing if you know what I mean. So you hocked the old guitar your daddy bought used, When you graduated high school, "here's to following through, son." He said but you don't mind, she's a one of a kind, And you bought a diamond ring, you're gonna walk that line. But you know she don't walk no line. So boy, don't get your hopes up, That's what they do, they'll break your little heart in two. So let 'em gaze on up at you with the fire in their eyes, And you'll promise, "honey, my love is true but that whiskey feelin's leaving and in the morning, darling, you will too." So let's gather up the fellas on a Saturday night, And we'll head on into town, we'll make that young boy drive. 'Cause you know them girls are out, running around, Lookin' for a man who knows how to lay 'em down. And you know we know how to lay 'em down. So boy, don't get your hopes up, That's what they do, they'll break your little heart in two. So let 'em gaze on up at you with the fire in their eyes, And you'll promise, "honey, my love is true but that whiskey feelin's leaving and in the morning, darling, you will too."

Make a Hand 03:14
We hit the road at o dark thirty for the white mountain cold, The trout are biting early, and it's early. Yeah, we picked up Eddie in that old yellow truck, I was in the back already, he was riding shotgun. Now, I had to pee soon as we hit the trees, So they told me I was sitting on rattlesnake babies, And I better not move too much, 'cause if I do, They're gonna do what they do when I go and wake 'em up. But he taught me how to fish, To mix your whiskey with Sierra Mist. Help your mother, she's the only one you got, Make a hand, take a shot, but make it the last shot. I was twelve years old when I quit the scouts, At seventeen I trashed the house and mama threw me out for good, And when I turned eighteen there wasn't anything that anyone, or he could tell me. But he taught me how to fish, To mix your whiskey with Sierra Mist. Help your mother, she's the only one you got, Make a hand, take a shot, but make it the last shot. The last time that I saw him, He was a shell of the man, who lie shot up on that hill in hell or France. Refused to die, he was holding my baby's hand. I sang him a song and he looked up at her and said, "yeah, he can sing." So I sent him to Fiddler's Green. The man that taught me how to fish, To mix your whiskey with Sierra Mist. Help your mother, she's the only one you got, Make a hand, take a shot, just make it the last shot.

Roamin' 02:41
Well, it's half past two and the night ain't through, I'm gonna get myself a beer, Fuck you, Nancy, I don't like dancing, let me just drink right here, Well, I can't drive home so I guess I'll roam out and around the town, I'm gonna keep on roamin' 'til I can't be found. My mama wishes I'd go back to school, My daddy thinks I'm a fool, My baby sleeps next to me but won't fool around, I'm gonna keep on roamin' 'til I can't be found. I've been pickin' at dives since I learned to play guitar, I've earned a Pabst Blue Ribbon at each and every bar, The folks that don't like me don't understand my sound, I'm gonna keep on roamin' 'til I can't be found. My mama wishes I'd go back to school, My daddy thinks I'm a fool, My baby sleeps next to me but won't fool around, I'm gonna keep on roamin' 'til I can't be found. I don't regret any choices I have made, Except the night I left the womb, I guess I should have stayed, 'Cause I'm not good company for any woman to keep around, I'm gonna keep on roamin' 'til I can't be found. My mama wishes I'd go back to school, My daddy thinks I'm a fool, My baby sleeps next to me but won't fool around, I'm gonna keep on roamin' 'til I can't be found.
